우리는 이번 코로나 재난으로 인해서 너무나 많은 죽음을 너무나도 무기력하게 바라보고 있습니다. 너무나도 생각지고 못하고 급작스럽게 죽음을 맞이하는 준비되지 못한 죽음들을 바라보는 심정은 먹먹하기만 합니다.
나에게도 이러한 죽음은 전혀 예상치 못하게 다가 올 것을 생각해 보면 나는 준비된 죽음을 맞이 할 것인지 아니면 준비되지 못한 죽음을 맞이하게 될지 생각해 보게 됩니다.
어떤 사람들은 죽음을 유머스럽게 표현해서 그 아픔을 덜어보려는 노력을 하기도 하였습니다.
일평생 ‘풍자’와 ‘해학’으로 살아온 영국의 극작가 ‘버나드 쇼(1856~1950)는 죽기 전 자신의 묘비에 써놓았다고 합니다. “여기서 오래 어물쩡거리다 내 이럴 줄 알았다.”
소설 <노인과 바다>를 지은 헤밍웨이(1899~1961)는 작가답게 이런 말을 남기고 갔다고 합니다. “다시 못 일어나는 걸 이해해 줄거지"
어떤 마음으로 죽음을 맞이하던 각자가 마음대로 정할 수 있지만 우리가 정하지 못하는 한가지 분명한 사실은 누구나 사람은 예외가 없이 태어나면서부터 어느 시간에 모래시계처럼 인생이 끝난다는 것입니다.
손목시계나 벽시계 같은 시계는 다시 12시간의 원을 그리며 다시 돌아가지만 모래시계는 한번 다 떨어지고 나면 다시 돌려놓지 않는 한 그 시계는 멈춰지고 맙니다.
그런데 이렇게 인생 마지막을 생각하며 산다는 것은 결코 비참한 일이 아닐 수도 있습니다.
오히려 오늘을 더욱 소중하게 살 수 있는 아주 강력한 원동력이 될 수 있습니다.
‘젊음은 젊은이에게 주기에 너무 아깝다’는 말을 늘 새깁니다. 아마도 이런 말이 있는 건
젊음이라는 시간의 소중함에 비해 이들이 너무 시간을 낭비하기 때문일 겁니다.
그러나 오늘이 내가 살아있는 동안 제일 젊은 날임을 생각할 때 이 "젊음"의 시간 더욱 소중해졌습니다. 오늘 만나는 사람이 더 사랑스럽습니다. 오늘이 더 감사하고 기뻐졌습니다.
더욱 중요한 것은 아직 우리에게는 준비할 시간과 기회가 남아있다는 사실입니다. 다시 오지않는 이 순간이 가슴이 메어질 정도로 소중합니다.
“한번 죽는 것은 사람에게 정해진 것이요 그 후에는 심판이 있으리니”(히 9:27)
■ 하나님의 사랑은 당신을 위한 것입니다 ■
We are looking too helpless and painful to see so many unexpected, unprepared deaths from this Corona pandemic around the world these days.
In fact, death itself is so painful that some have made an effort to alleviate the pain by expressing humorously.
Bernard Shaw(1856-1950), a British playwright and polemist had written on his gravestone before he died.
“I knew if I stayed around long enough, something like this would happen)”
Ernest Hemingway(1899-1961) wrote and left before his death a phrse like this:
"Pardon me for not getting up."
No matter how you try to express about death, you can not change the fact that you are going to die oneday like anyone else.
A wall clocks rotates again in a 12-hour circle, but an hourglass once runs out, it stops unless you turn it back like one's life. Frustrating....
However, it is not always frustrating of thinking of death ahead.
Rather, it can be a very powerful driving force to live more valuable life today.
Someone said "Youth is too precious to give to young people.“
It must be a criticism of the fact that majority of young people do not appreciate their youth but waste too much and too easily.
Do you know today is the youngest moment of your life so far?
When I think of this, my "youth" now becomes even more precious than anytime else before. Friends I meet today is more lovely than aytime before. The time I spend now is so grateful and happy that I can not waise even one little piece. This moment will not repeat again for sure.
More importantly, right now, I still have time and opportunity to prepare for my death ahead. Thank God for that.

Hoy en dias, parece que estamos tan impotentes y dolorosos para ver tantas muertes inesperadas sin preparación por esta pandemia de Corona en todo el mundo.
De hecho, la muerte en sí es tan dolorosa que algunos se han esforzado por aliviar el dolor expresándose con humor.
Bernard Shaw (1856-1950), dramaturgo y polemista británico, había escrito en su lápida sepulcral antes de morir.
"Sabía que si me quedaba el tiempo largo, pasaría algo como esto"
Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961) escribió y dejó antes de su muerte una frase como esta: "Perdóname por no levantarme."
No importa cómo intentes expresarte sobre la muerte, no puedes cambiar el hecho de que un día vas a morir como cualquier otra persona.
Un reloj de pared gira nuevamente en un círculo de 12 horas, pero un reloj de arena una vez que se agota, se detiene a menos que lo retrocedas como la vida. Frustrante....
Sin embargo, no siempre es frustrante pensar en la muerte por delante.
Más bien, puede ser una fuerza impulsora muy poderosa para vivir una vida más valiosa hoy.
Alguien dijo "La juventud es demasiado preciosa para dársela a los jóvenes".
Debe ser una crítica al hecho de que la mayoría de los jóvenes no aprecian su juventud, pero se gasta demasiada facilidad.
¿Sabes que hoy es el momento más joven de tu vida hasta ahora?
Cuando pienso en esto, mi "juventud" ahora se vuelve aún más preciosa que en cualquier otro momento. Amigos que encuentro hoy es más encantador que antes. El tiempo que paso ahora es tan agradecido y feliz que no puedo perdir ni un pedacito. Este momento no volverá a repetirse por seguro.
Más importante aún, en este momento, todavía tengo tiempo y oportunidad de prepararme para mi muerte por delante. Gracias a Dios por eso.
“Y de la manera que está establecido para los hombres que mueran una sola vez, y después de esto el juicio"(Hebreos 9:27).
